 Mayor’s Proclamation

City of Isanti

Whereas           The manufacturing industry is a dynamic part of Minnesota’s economy, and promotion of this sector’s strength, success and high quality of life is an integral part of Minnesota’s economic development strategy; and

Whereas           Manufacturing provides high skill, high wage jobs which significantly contribute to Minnesota’s high standard of living and economic vitality; and

Whereas           Manufacturing pays an average annual wage of $53,612 per employee, eclipsing construction, real estate, and agriculture; and

 Whereas           Manufacturing has the second largest total payroll among business sectors in Minnesota, providing 16.1 billion in wages; and

Whereas           Manufacturing produces $33.7 billion for the state economy and is the largest share, 13 percent of our gross domestic product; and

Whereas           Manufactured exports brought over $17.2 billion into the Minnesota economy in 2010.

Whereas           Each manufacturing job supports another 1.3 jobs elsewhere in the economy through supplier purchases and employee spending. In all, manufacturing accounts for nearly 800,000 jobs or about 29 percent of all jobs in Minnesota.

Whereas           Manufacturing businesses employ 299 people in the City of Isanti, which is approximately 22% of all jobs located within the City in 2011.

Now, therefore, I George A. Wimmer, Mayor of the City of Isanti, do hereby proclaim that, the week of October 23 to October 29, 2011 shall be observed as:

MINNESOTA MANUFACTURERS WEEK

in the City of Isanti on this 18th day of October, Two Thousand and Eleven.

City of Isanti Sidewalk Shoveling Regulations

City Ordinance provides all property owners and / or renter shall be responsible for snow removal from sidewalks adjacent to their property within 12 hours after a snowfall. Sidewalks that are not cleared after 48 hours will be cleared by the City and the cost to clear the sidewalk shall be assessed to the property owner. Sidewalks located on the following locations are an exception to the above and shall be cleared by the City:

  • Broadway Street - Railroad Avenue to Candy Avenue
  • Dahlin Avenue - Broadway Street to Main Street
  • Main Street West - CASH 23 to Dahlin Avenue
  • Oakwood Street - CASH 23 to Centennial Drive
  • CSAH 5 - CSAH 23 to East Dual Boulevard
  • First Avenue N - Main Street to CSAH 5
  • Second Avenue N - Main Street to CSAH 5
  • Third Avenue N - Main Street to CSAH 5
  • Fourth Avenue N - Main Street to CSAH 5
  • Fifth Avenue N - Main Street to CSAH 5
  • CSAH 23 - South Passage to CSAH 5
  • Whiskey Road - CSAH 5 to Isanti Parkway West
  • Wendover Street NW - Whiskey Road to Rum River Drive NW
  • Rum River Drive NW - Wendover Street NW to Hillock Street NW
  • Fifth Street South – from Main Street south through the section of sidewalk just south of the intersection with Elizabeth Street
  • Sidewalks located along the edge of city owned property, i.e. parks, playgrounds, etc.
  • Please see the attached map that indicates the above stated locations where the City is responsible for clearing the sidewalks.

    City of Isanti Winter Parking Restrictions

    The snow season is just beginning and the City of Isanti provides the following regulations on the parking on City Streets and in the Municipal Parking Lot.

    City Ordinance No. 122 provides that parking of vehicles is not allowed on City streets between the hours of 1:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. from November 1st through March 31st of every year. Parking is not permitted in the City s downtown municipal parking lot (located south of Main Street and west of the railroad tracks) between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Parking is permitted on streets after 6:00 a.m. provided snow removal has been completed or there is no snow. This ordinance will be enforced by the City.
