It is governed by a Mayor who serves a two-year term and four Councilmembers who serve four-year terms. City Council members serve at large. City elections coincide with the general elections held in the fall of all even numbered years.
The City of Isanti Council meetings are typically held the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
The four City Council members and the Mayor are responsible for approving operating and capital improvement budgets, employing City workers, establishing City regulations and ordinances, maintaining public facilities, and planning the City's future.
