City Departments
Each City Department specializes in its own area.
The Administration Department is responsible for the day-to-day activities associated with running a City.
The Building Department handles inspections of buildings and that buildings are constructed according to code.
The Economic Development Authority primary function is business retention, business expansion, and bringing new business into our community.
The Finance Department is responsible for the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
The Parks & Recreation Department ensures that City parks have equipment, trails are planned for, and that each citizen has recreation opportunities within the City.
The Planning and Zoning Department is given the responsibility that City Ordinances and the Comprehensive Plan is adhered to, that new projects follow City Ordinance and policy, and to handle requests on variances.
The Police Department is responsible for keeping the City safe, issuing parking tickets, and participating in programs to keep people away from drugs, and unhealthy lifestyles.
The Public Works Department is responsible for street maintenance, sanitary sewer and water maintenance, ground maintenance, wastewater treatment, and water supply distribution.
